'JUST FRIENDS!!'

'Just Friends' Poster ... in Cannes

Check out the Trailer for 'Just Friends'! It is on the 'Official Website' link below.

The last scene has a guy saying, 'Hi Neighbor' ... and getting hit by a snow ball. That 'guy' is Jake Weiner ... my niece's husband (I call him my 'nephew-in-law') ... in what might very well be his 'film debut'. I'll check that out ... and get back to you on that.

Good job, Jake!

'In Her Shoes' Premiere

I don't know Jennifer Weiner, who wrote the novel 'In Her Shoes'. But the more that I read about her ... and from her ... the more I like her. I consider myself 'related to her by marriage' ... in a sort of 'six degrees' sort of way. My niece, April, is married to her brother, Jake. I hope that some day I will have the chance to meet Jennifer ... because I find her to be an amazing woman.

I just saw 'In Her Shoes' this weekend - and when I saw Jennifer's name on the screen ... I actually 'teared up'. For her. For her family. For all of us who work so hard to share our stories and want our voices to be heard. I was sitting with my friend, Susannah, who has dreams of writing a novel and screen play. She produced a documentary a few years back - and is an incredible writer. After the movie was over - we were talking about how wonderful it is to celebrate another womans success. Jennifer's. And it gave us hope ... that more of our dreams might some day be fulfilled.

So ... I loved the movie! I didn't think it was a 'Chick Flick' - but something much deeper. Having two sisters and two brothers - who spanned in age from eight years older, to ten years younger, I have witnessed how very different siblings can be - even when raised by the same parents ... and in the same environment. So I understood how these two sisters could be so different ... yet feel so connected. I have had experiences with my two sisters - where we have been 'apart' for a time ... but, in the end, the bond between us brings us back together again. This movie made me laugh ... and cry. More than I expected. And it warmed my heart.

Kudos to all who made this film what it is ... and to Jennifer ... for writing a novel that inspired this amazing film.

Jennifer has written four best sellers: 'Good in Bed', 'In Her Shoes', 'Little Earthquakes' and 'Goodnight Nobody'.
