This is a Blog created just to pay tribute to all of the interesting people that I've met and worked with over the years ... and to celebrate all of the exciting ventures that I see coming for my niece and her husband ... and my other 'famous relatives by marriage' (ha ha). It's not about 'bragging' ... it's about being excited for others ... and celebrating their success! Hope you HAVE FUN ... and ENJOY!

My dear niece, April, with a little tear in her eye ... as hubby, Jake, heads out to the Golden Globes! Sorry April! Hope you will forgive me for posting this ... but I loved it ... and got weepy myself, when I saw it! Love you, Girl!! (Aunt Bea)
April and Olivia ... staying home with the 'Golden Globe Cookies'!
My family is watching the Golden Globes tonight - to cheer on my 'nephew-in-law', Jake - as his movie 'A History of Violence' is up for Best Picture and 'Best Supporting Actress in Motion Pic - Drama' (Maria Bello). And 'In Her Shoes' is up for 'Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Pic' (Shirley MacLaine). Jake's Sister, Jennifer Weiner wrote the book 'In Her Shoes' (see the Blog about her – below). So we are cheering for that as well!
Best wishes go to Jake … and his team! We are SO proud of you!!

Congratulations Brenda on the family win. Are you next years winner for all your hard work? I did watch while playing with the puppy and trying to keep her from chewing electrical chords.
Have an awesome day everyone. Carol

Peg
Thanks Everybody!!
'A History of Violence' did not win ... but I wrote to April - saying that even being nominated (especially it being Jake's first movie where he was in the credits) is a huge honor. She wrote back and said that they knew going in that they were probably not going to win - so they were fine about it all ... and just thrilled to be able to be in that position. She said, that Jake said, there was one little moment - when their name was called - when he thought 'maybe' ... but it was fleeting - and they were fine with the results. No disappointments at all!
Hey Peg - yes, I have that book too (but haven't read it yet). I am still working on 'Good in Bed' - which is funny/sad. Jennifer has four books out - all on the Best Seller list. Maybe - when I am in Mexico - I will finally have time to finish one of her books. : )
Thanks again - for all the good wishes. Is such fun to share ... and I am very excited for 'the kids'. : )
Take care,
Brenda
P.S.
Did I mention that Jake and JC sat with the 'Will & Grace' people? : ) Too fun!
Hi Brenda
Well here I am a month later...I did watch the Golden Globes but hadn't seen your post so I didn't know about Jake. You're right, what an honor to be one of the nominees! Looks like just the beginning for him...I can tell that you are very proud of him and his accomplishments and thanks for filling us in and sharing your wonderful pictures.
